UBMs - why do we love JWs??

i think there's been a thread on this before, but i figured i'd ask again.. for all of the ubms out there, why is it that we love witnesses??

what is it about them that we find so attractive??

why are we putting ourselves through this mess when we know full-well that there are lots of non-jws out there who would be better for us??.

Seriously now....I've made some big mistakes.

But doesn't anyone ask questions before they start to fall in love?

What religion were you raised?
Do your parents/family butt into every part of your personal life?
Do you want kids?
How will you raise kids?
Do you plan to go back to a destructive mind control cult after we are married?

Questions I know I should have asked. But now here I am 8 years AND 2 little boys later and still the Watchtower comes up almost everyday.

If you are involved with a JW, it encompasses almost every part of your life for the rest of your life. Even if they are inactive.

There doesn't seem to be a month where there isn't some pagan holiday festivity or preparation for some pagan holiday festivity. Not a day when the political system of this world isn't bashed for it's stupidity or the problems of humanity glossed over because...THE END IS NEAR!

You really have to be like a duck to be in a relationship with a JW or Inactive-JW. You have to let it all roll off your back and not bother you. You must have your rose colored glasses duct-taped and super glued to your head so they won't ever come off....because when they come off there is a a big surprise waiting for you.

It's called REALITY.

The reality of waking up next to someone who doesn't have the same expectations from life that you do. It's spending your precious time here on this Earth with someone who believes...EVEN IF THEY DON'T SAY IT...That their life with you is just temporary. Because if you don't conform and believe what they believe then....

YOU AIN'T GONNA MAKE IT THROUGH ARMAGEDDON BABY!

YOU'RE A PART OF THIS EVIL SYSTEM OF THINGS!

By entering into a relationship with a JW or Inactive JW you are accepting that you are always going to have secrets kept from you. Your mate/lover/husband/wife will be keeping secrets from you and about you and your life together...who will they be sharing the secrets with - The Watchtower Society and its representatives aka Elders. Because they are always accountable to those PEE -ONS until they are either disfellowshipped or disassociated. And even if they come back to the WTS after being DF'd or DA'd...they are accountable to those same PEE-ONS for what they did whilst they were away.

By entering into a relationship with a JW or Inactive JW you are saying to yourself and to them....I accept it that I have to respect all your beliefs and you can freely and openly mock and stamp all over my beliefs - because - YOUR BELIEFS ARE RIGHT AND THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY THAT THEY ARE WRONG...BECAUSE HELL...YOU'RE ONE OF JEHOVAHS WITNESSES. JEHOVAHS CHOSEN PEOPLE...THE ONE THE ONLY PERFECT RELIGION HERE ON EARTH.

But if you can handle that...I say go for it!

Do Jewish people have an opinion of jw's?

i only ever met one jewish lady at the door, and i had no clue at the time that they were the original people of jehovah (education by awake), but she very politely snotted me off.

i'm just curious whether anybody knows what jewish people think of jw's, if they do at all?

are jw's the ultimate blasphemers?

The first Rabbi I saw in Massachusetts informed me that I was a disgrace for marrying a JW. I laughed because my husband was treated the same way by the Elders for marrying me! LOL!

Our new Rabbi who is very live and let live, doesn't care at all.

I think most Jew's don't care about JW's until they cross their path or are irritated by them.

My husband and his 5 sisters have all had horrible experiences out in field service. From being physically attacked to having dogs chase them and bite them.

One of the wierdest stories I have heard about field service was from our good friend. He, a brother and a sister were out in service and a man came to the door with a shotgun and made them come into the house. When he got them in the house he made them drink with him. He made them all drink a few shots of Whiskey and then he let them leave.

As far as sex offenders in the field service territory, I was told the loving brothers know where these people are and don't allow people to go to those doors. This was what I heard from my mother in law.

I was born in Petaluma and lived in Benicia, Fairfield and Vacaville.

Moved to the ARCTIC TUNDRA of Massachusetts almost 8 years ago.

On a side note...I am going to California on February 13 - March 1 to visit my family in the same area's.

hi there from the rainy west coast of canada,.

alfie here, as you know i don't get on the board often, but i do read comments occasionally and enjoy all of the things said.

however, i'm needing some advice and have never seen this subject discussed.

I've been buying and selling on Ebay for 6 years. I have never had any problems.

Make sure the person you buy from has lots of positive feedback a higher number is usually better but not if they have a lot of negative comments.

I'd also make sure what the shipping costs are before you bid because some people over charge on shipping and take advantage. Especially if they are shipping it Internationally.

How stressed were you as a JW?

i don't know about you guys, but it stressed me alot to be a jw.. i never did like talking in public, in front of a group, or going door to door.. gee, i hated the tms meeting.

the moment i knew that i had a talk, i became nervous and often i had a hard time sleeping.

just knowing that i had to talk for 5 minutes in front of the whole congrgation got me nervous weeks ahead of time.

Why Georgia

I was not a JW but just trying to act like one to make hubby happy. It was incredibly stressful to me to try and be so perfect and happy all the time.

Not to mention 3 meetings a week with a brand new baby and the damn sisters popping in all the time when they were out in field service when I was trying to rest or the baby finally went to sleep.

Plus if we missed a meeting we got 20 phone calls at least and usually a visit the next day.

Lord help me if I had a single thought for myself without all those good JW's there to think it for me first!

Seeing is believing...those aliens were just on my TV.

The Teletubbies! They live in a UFO, have TV's in their stomachs.

My kids believe their real...so aliens must be real!

Are JWs the Ultimate Modern Suicide Cult?

jws lives are regularly put on the line by their religious beliefs or by the rules made by the wtbts.. if they become sick or injured they cannot accept for themselves or their loved one a blood transfusion that may save their lives.. if they live in an intolerant society, they may not purchase simple papers that could prevent them being tortured or murdered.. they go regularly to the homes of strangers and speak to total strangers and risk life and limb.

some have died because of this very practice.. so, are jws the ultimate modern suicide cult?.

i can't think of any religion, other than the suicide bombers of islam, that believe strongly in martyrdom, as the jws do.. how many jws could be dying every day because of the wtbts instructions?.

What about Christian Scientists, Amish, and Mennonites? Couldn't you say the same about them? They often refuse life saving medical treatments because they wait on God.

Aren't they suicide cults too?

My cousin drives and owns one of those huge monster trucks in all the monster truck shows. It's very cool. He makes a good living doing it and gets to live out his childhood dreams daily.

Not so easy to park at the grocery store though...LOL!
